Privacy
From Reports is a static website. It does not provide user accounts or comments. Inquiries use an embedded form provided through Google Forms. The site also currently uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand usage and improve the site.
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is currently enabled on this site. In addition to ordinary page-view data, From Reports measures actions such as opening an original PDF, following a primary-source link from an individual note, topic navigation, use of site search, selecting a report or note from search results, language switching and reaching the end of a report article.
The raw text entered into the site search box is not sent to Google Analytics as a From Reports custom-event parameter. We measure whether search was used, whether a topic filter was selected, and the number of visible results. The site is also designed not to send names, email addresses or other information that directly identifies a person to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics may collect information such as user and session statistics, approximate location, browser information and device information. It may also use first-party cookies such as _ga to distinguish usage from the same browser. Google states that in Google Analytics 4, IP addresses are used to derive general location information and are discarded before the data is logged.

Cookies and consent management
Google Analytics may use cookies and related technologies to measure site usage. Visitors can restrict or delete cookies through their browser settings, although doing so may reduce or prevent some measurement.
For visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, Switzerland and other regions where consent applies, the site uses Consent Mode so Google-tag behavior can be adjusted according to applicable consent choices for analytics and advertising. When Google's CMP is available, the button below can be used to reopen privacy and cookie choices.
Google AdSense
This site has an AdSense publisher-ID meta tag and ads.txt entry for site verification, but ad serving is not currently enabled.
When ad serving is enabled, the site will also enable the required consent controls and update this policy if the actual advertising setup changes.
Hosting and delivery
The site is delivered through Cloudflare Workers Static Assets. Cloudflare and other hosting or network providers may process technical request information as part of delivering, troubleshooting and securing the website.
Contact via Google Forms
The Contact page embeds a Google Forms form in an iframe. Loading the Contact page connects your browser to Google before you submit anything so the embedded form can be displayed, and Google may process technical information such as your IP address, browser information or cookies.
Information entered in the form is submitted through Google Forms and may be processed or stored using Google services. From Reports uses submitted information to review inquiries, verify or correct articles, and improve the site. See the Google Privacy Policy for information about Google's handling of data.
Please do not submit personal information, confidential information, trade secrets or unpublished materials.
Links to external sites
Articles link to publishers of original investigation reports and other external sites. Information handling on those sites is governed by their own policies.
Changes to this policy
This page will be updated if the services used by the site, the scope of measurement or the advertising status changes.
